How Wibitz Got Her Name

Like the rest of the world, we know you too are wondering how she ended up with THE name.

The Legend

Wibitz used to be called Wibita. According to the “legend” the name Wibita came from the three friends who were very close to her mother namely: Willy, Billy and Tammy. However, Wibitz did not like that name very much, because in Filipino names names ending in “a” are very common. Her friends in elementary and high school used to call her Wibits with an “s”.

She likes that nickname better.

In high school, she met this Chinese friend who had become very close to her. This Chinese friend loves to call her Wibitzkie and Wibitz loved it because its unique and it sounded like a flush of lightning…just like her!

Later on, her Chinese friend started calling her Wibitz instead of Wibitzkie.
Wibitz loves the shorter version even more. So, whenever she introduces herself to people she used the name Wibitz with a “z” in the end as in the “ZEST ” for life which really describes her personality.

A Dream Came True

Wibitz continued to receive compliments about her name that she wished it to be her real name. Well, ALL of Wibitz’s dreams come true. This one was not an exception. In 1993, when Wibitz received her US Citizenship she was informed that they can all change their names if they wished to. All they have to do is fill out the paper for change of name and the rest will all be taken carre of for them. You should have seen how Wibitz eyes twinkle the minute she heard that. Immediately filled out that piece of paper and change her legal name from Wibita to Wibitz . That was a dream come true for her. She was also very thrilled at how it matches with her new married name which is WIBITZ STEWART.

Sooooooo, that’s how Wibitz got her name. THAT’S ALL FOLKS !!!
